Mother-Daughter

A few weeks after Mother's Day we sneaked into a park to capture some awesome shots of mothers and their daughters. Actually, we didn't plan it that way. The shoot was a large farewell get-together consisting of 5 families. We took a few moments to shoot mothers and their daughters. The light was perfect, the mood was light and the love between the lovely ladies very tangible. Here is one of the many images we shot.

Je sais, je sais, la vie d'artiste… ce n'est pas toujours facile. Vanessa et moi avons eu le plaisir et le privilège de photographier un beau jeune homme.
Alors, bien que l'équipe d'Abelle soit plutôt coquette, nous sommes tout à fait à l'aise devant nos sujets uniques, indépendants, élégants et virils de la gente masculine. Ah oui... ai-je dis que nous sommes chanceuses aussi?

Let there be L I G H T !

It's all about the light. After spending a week with Jerry Ghionis a few years ago, I finally began to get IT. Seeing the light in a whole new and different way.
It isn't about the camera (sensor points, pixels, fps,…), nor is it about the lens (fast aperture), nor the fancy decor, the fancy clothes and neither is it about the professional makeup. It's all about the light and the moment. Seeing it. Interpreting it in a frame.
Down time this weekend. The first in 2013.

VINI VIDI VICI: Brockville's Beautiful Beginnings Bridal Show

Yesterday, we had the pleasure to immerse ourselves in the welcoming Brockvilian (? spelling ?)  community. We met hundreds of future brides and grooms excitedly planning their big day. Many of the brides, mothers, fathers, best friends, maid of honour, sisters, grand mothers, grooms, buddies, brothers and best men were already planning for 2014. We had quite a number of couples coming to us because they will soon be renewing their vows.
We met professional, friendly and supportive wedding vendors. I had no idea this business community was so alive with creativity and energy.

A special gi-normous thank you to my favourite set designer and agent, Mr. Hugh George! :) He was able to set up this beautiful booth in under 60 minutes. We had no idea what we were going to have to deal with: electricity, location, backdrop and side wall structure.
